Careers at Landmark, part of the Optum and UnitedHealth Group family of businesses. At Landmark, we work to deliver high quality, comprehensive care to chronically ill patients wherever they reside and whenever they need it. We focus on doing what’s right for the people we serve, even when it’s not easy. This is your opportunity to be part of a compassionate team that is setting out to change health care for complex, chronic patients. We’re looking for driven people like you because changing the status quo takes dedication. Here, we’ll invest in your personal and professional growth while giving you a unique opportunity to make a difference. Helping people feel their best is a rewarding part of doing your life’s best work.(sm)

Do you want to make a difference in healthcare?

Landmark Health, part of the Optum and UnitedHealth Group family of businesses, was created to transform how healthcare is delivered to the most medically vulnerable members in our community. Our medical group provides home-based medical care to chronically ill patients, many of whom are ill-equipped to navigate our overwhelming healthcare system.

Because many of our patients are frail and elderly, we deliver care primarily in the comfort of their home. Our Program is also offered to eligible patients at no incremental financial cost to them. We are not a fee-for-service practice; we benefit economically only if we deliver high-quality patient outcomes and satisfaction. As a result, our clinical teams can spend quality-time caring for a smaller number of patients, giving all patients the space, respect, compassion and care they deserve. Our interdisciplinary teams collaboratively manage our complex patient panels. These teams are led by Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants, with supporting care provided by RN Nurse Care Managers, Social Workers, Pharmacists, Behavioral Health, and other employed team members.

The Collaborating Psychiatrist (CP) will serve as the primary collaborating clinical supervisor for Behavioral Health Advanced Practice Providers in applicable assigned States. Responsibilities of the CP include conducting routine patient chart audits and fulfilling any state-specific requirements as a collaborator which may include but not be limited to attendance in meetings and ride-alongs virtually or in person. The CP will report to the assigned market medical director or regional medical officer with clinical oversight and advisement from the National Behavioral Health Leadership Team which includes the Chief Behavioral Health Officer, Senior Medical Officer - Behavioral Health, Vice President, Behavioral Health and Senior Director, Behavioral Health.

This is an outstanding opportunity with a Fortune 5 Company to be at the forefront of our continued growth in this specialty area. Join us today!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support Behavioral Health Advanced Practice Providers with in-person or telephonic clinical consultations, conduct regular individual meetings, proactively provide performance feedback, review and mentor and oversee provider education
  • Hold collaborative practice agreement based on applicable State and Company requirements
  • Oversee the care provided by the Behavioral Health Advanced Practice Providers in the home or virtually to include but not limited to diagnosing, treating, prescribing for, and monitoring patients
  • Act as a consultative psychiatrist focused on stabilizing clinically complex Behavioral Health patients
  • Serve as psychiatric subject matter expert for health plans or other business partners in the assigned division / region and as appropriate, nationally
  • Complete and sign all required documentation regarding supervision and collaboration for Behavioral Health Advanced Practice Providers within required timeframes
  • Participate in targeted, virtual ride alongs with Behavioral Health Advanced Practice Providers as well as targeted comprehensive chart reviews to audit and coach selected practitioners
  • As needed, participate in clinical case rounds for psychiatrically complex patients
  • Demonstrate appropriate medical judgment and appropriate use of resources with regards to care plans, diagnostic testing, and referrals
  • Keep current on relevant medical, behavioral research, technology, and related issues by attending continuing education courses, professional meetings and completing journal reviews
  • Demonstrate appropriate medical judgment and appropriate use of resources with regards to care plans, diagnostic testing, and referrals
  • Cross cover for Chief Behavioral Health Officer and other Senior Medical Officers - BH as warranted
  • Participate actively in all Peer Review activities
  • Perform related duties as necessary and other duties as assigned

What makes an OptumCare organization different?

  • Our care model limits daily volume to allow our providers the time needed to provide quality care to their patients
  • We offer clinical and leadership growth and stability second to none
  • Providers are supported to practice at the peak of their license
  • We are influencing change on a national scale while maintaining the culture and community of our local care organization
  • The culture is one of clinical innovation and transformation

You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications:

  • Medical and DEA Licensure in the State of Georgia free of any restrictions, probations, or limitations
  • 2+ years practicing as a Psychiatrist
  • Experience in managing the medical and clinical practice of physicians and multi-disciplinary staff in Behavioral Health treatment settings
