•   9 to 5:30.  Monday through Friday.  

• The clinic hours are 7:00 to 5:30.

• This person will be working in the reception area at a work station behind the receptionist. 

•  schedule outpatient therapy follow up appointments according to the therapist’s treatment plan.

•  Answering phones, checking voice mails, scanning paper documents to the EMR, scheduling new patients for their initial evaluation, managing faxes in electronic faxing system, working off Epic work queues with orders for scheduling new patients, fixing registration errors, following up with plans of care being signed by the referring provider.  The candidate must be personable, be part of a team with the front desk receptionist and fill in at the front desk registering and checking in patients after the receptionist leaves. 

• WIll handle  verification and insurance authorization/referrals while helping with the above duties. 

   

Memorial Hospital Belleville is a 222-bed acute care Magnet® designated hospital offering emergency and critical care services as well as medical and surgical services along with a full complement of diagnostic and treatment modalities. Also located on the Belleville campus, The Orthopedic and Neurosciences Center offers a comprehensive rehabilitation program that includes physical, occupational, speech and hand therapy.

Memorial Hospital Shiloh is a 97-all private bed Magnet® designated hospital located in Shiloh, Illinois.  Memorial Shiloh offers a 24/7 emergency department, medical, surgical and diagnostic services including cardiac catheterization, imaging and laboratory. The Family Care Birthing Center features 18 spacious LDRP suites, two dedicated c-section rooms, OB Emergency Department, 24/7 OB hospitalist and neonatology coverage. The Shiloh campus also has the only Illinois Siteman Cancer Center location.

Role Purpose

The Patient Access Representative is often the first point of contact for our patients and therefore must represent BJC with the highest standard of customer service, compassion and perform all duties in a manner consistent with our mission, vision, values, and BJC service standards. The Patient Access Representative will facilitate all components of the patients' entrance into any BJC facility. This position will require a high level of emotional intelligence and making a personal connection. The patient experiences vary broadly based on their medical needs and acuity. This position highly impacts the ability to maximize the level of reimbursements and prevention of denials by accurate collection of demographics and insurance information, benefit verification and point of service collection. Selecting the correct patient from the master person index (MPI) is critical to patient safety. This team member must possess a friendly demeanor, exceptional attention to detail and maintain knowledge and competence with insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines as well as federal, state, and accreditation agencies.
