POSITION SUMMARY: Promotes the safe and effective use of medication for all patients of the hospital through proper interpretation of physicians orders, accurate dispensing of medications and monitoring of therapy. Provides accurate, adequate and timely drug information to customers and healthcare providers. Maintains and reviews patient profiles and makes recommendations to prescriber to ensure appropriateness of therapy, avoiding drug interactions and adverse reactions. Provides for appropriate inventories of medications.
