SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Establishes and maintains accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organization's assets. Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports.
SCOPE: Work may touch multiple business units with a higher degree of inputs and different types of accounts and transactions
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsibility 1 - Cost Reporting: Assist with the preparation of the Medicare/Medicaid Cost reports. Work with various departments to obtain necessary information for completing Medicare/Medicaid Cost Reports. Develop and organize supporting work papers. Enter data into Medicare/Medicaid Cost Report Software.
- Responsibility 2 - Cost Accounting: Assist with the updates to the cost accounting system including annual updates to the statistics that drive the overhead expense allocations. Perform interim statistic updates as needed for cost centers added and new construction that are subsequent to the fiscal year-end and impact the integrity of the current year overhead allocations. Prepare reclassifications and remaps required to appropriately match revenue with expenses. Assist with coordination of the biennial review of the RVU by compendium. Assist with annual upload of CMS professional fee RVUs. Assist with coordination of software updates. Understand revenue and expense flows to ensure that cost data is mapped appropriately. Understand the detail behind the cost accounting to serve as a resource within Finance and non-Finance departments for training on costing data. Develop and organize detailed work papers to support quarterly costing data.
- Responsibility 3 - Special Projects: Special projects for accounting, such as data needs for general ledger reporting, and analysis.

Unique Skills:
MS Excel, Access, and Business Intelligence experience
