Reporting to the EVP, Chief Philanthropy and Community Affairs Officer, the VP Community Engagement leads BSWH’s health equity strategies and efforts around opportunities that seek to create and test novel services, programs, partnerships and/or technologies- from within and outside of the healthcare and the organization- that challenge the status quo and have the potential to reduce the cost of care, improve quality and/or increase access to services.

Responsible for Health Equity strategy development across BSWH: responsible for shaping and developing the overall strategy for equitable access for vulnerable populations (Medicaid, Uninsured, Veterans, Children), utilizing and improving current programs, finding synergies and opportunities for improvement, utilizing new healthcare policies and programs to develop services that improve quality and reduce cost for these populations. Simultaneously, working on improving efficiencies of models and sustainability plans to maintain and grow programs. Responsible for finding ways to quantify the benefits of these programs, spreading best practices and working with related departments, hospitals and entities (internally) and organizations to create long term partnerships and policy cohorts (externally). 

Responsible for implementation/dissemination of new care models: including new programs of care development under new payment models and strategic direction of the organization. Responsible for dissemination, implementation (where appropriate) and project management to help spread care models.

- Telehealth

Responsible for proposing and shaping new and innovative program ideas for BSWH: through research, feasibility analyses, stakeholder engagement and organizational direction; propose new ideas based on best practices, cross industry knowledge and utilizing insights to develop new programs

Responsible evaluating and (if feasible/appropriate), implementation for CMS/HHSC funding opportunities for underserved populations:  Responsible for the evaluation, infrastructure development and program creation of innovative grant/funding opportunities across the enterprise for underserved (Medicaid/low income uninsured) populations. This includes but is not limited to project and business plan development, metric and data collection architecture, strategy development and implementation guidance
Examples: 
- Underserved Government Programs (i.e: evaluating PACE, FQHCs)
- Medicaid 1115 Waiver
- Medicaid 1332 Waiver 
- Lead, consultant and provide guidance for other undeserved grant opportunities that address children, veterans, uninsured and Medicaid patients

This is a system-wide leadership role and requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a courteous manner, and the ability to lead a team.   It requires a skilled and thoughtful leader who can work with internal teams as well as external organizations to provide health equity to underserved populations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s Degree, Masters Health Administration (MHSA/MHA) preferred
- Certified Community Health Worker (CCHW)
- 8+ years of experience
