Position Summary

The Inpatient Pharmacy Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Inpatient Pharmacy. This individual oversees the inpatient pharmacy technicians, lead pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy interns while providing support for pharmacists working within the PCH Central Pharmacy. This role is responsible for the development and optimization of pharmacy operations, scheduling, and staffing initiatives to enhance patient care. The Inpatient Pharmacy Operations Supervisor reports directly to the PCH Director of Inpatient Pharmacy.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) or Doctoral Degree (Pharm.D.) in Pharmacy (Required)
• Completion of a post-graduate year 1 (PGY-1) pharmacy residency program accredited by ASHP (Preferred)
• Master's Degree in related healthcare area (Preferred)

Experience

• Two (2) or more years of operational, clinical and/or administrative pharmacy practice in an acute care or primary care institutional setting or equivalent (Required)
• Minimum of One (1) year of supervisory experience, advanced practice training or equivalent (Preferred)
• Previous pediatric clinical experience or equivalent (Preferred)

Certifications

• Current license or eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist either by reciprocity or examination by Arizona State Board of Pharmacy (Required)
• Completion of a post-graduate year 1 (PGY-1) pharmacy residency program accredited by ASHP (Preferred)
• Completion of a post-graduate year 2 (PGY-2) pharmacy residency program accredited by ASHP (Preferred)
• Current BLS or PALS or ACLS for HealthCare Providers from American Heart Association (Preferred)

• Ability to comprehend and analyze information, problem solve and use independent judgment (Required)
• Ability to coordinate the sequence of an operation or a process and operate equipment and pharmacy information systems (Required)
• Ability to relate cooperatively and constructively with patients, co-workers, clinical and medical staff and interdisciplinary teams (Required)
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form with all levels of hospital personnel and all patient groups (Required)
• Ability to perform the functions of a Clinical Pharmacist (Required)
• Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems (Required)
