Your day.


As a Government and Payer Programs Coordinator, you need to know how to:


The Government & Payer Programs Manager is responsible for departmental administrative and payer program support for all Intermountain Peaks Region entities.



  • Provides administrative support for all Boards and Committees that the department is responsible to or for. Includes but is not limited to: scheduling, Agenda preparation, Minutes taking and dissemination, preparation of presentation materials, distribution of communication materials, and program research.

  • Maintains program documentation and maximizes department IT applications to create and sustain standardized processes for electronic capture, storing and dissemination of key program documentation and reports. Manages and updates all departmental policies related to payer programs.

  • Gathers and compiles new program information and distributes as required.

  • Researches and responds to external stakeholder questions regarding basic program or departmental questions.

  • Coordinates collection of program supporting documentation, data and information as well as managing the input of documentation, data and information into any required payer program documents, portals or applications.

  • Monitors the progress of credentialing processes, program applications, surveys and/or any required program submissions.

  • Manages day-to-day program operations and/or compliance, as directed by the Manager of Government & Payer Programs Manager.

  • Supports the execution of work plans and projects administered by the Manger of Government & Payer Programs.

  • Educates other departments and key stakeholders abut new programs and/or departmental policies or procedures related to program compliance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Ability to read, interpret and apply complex written guidelines, instructions and other materials.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. 

  • Provide excellent customer services skills, including consistently displaying awareness and sensitivity to the needs of internal and/or external clients, proactively ensuring that these needs are met or exceeded.

  • Take personal responsibility for personal growth including acquiring new skills, knowledge, and information.

  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work product.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Basic mathematics skills.

  • Intermediate skills in Word and Excel

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid programs including Medicare Advantage plans and RAEâ™s alternative payment programs as well as federal and state regulations governing these plans/systems is a plus.


Required:



  • Bachelorâ™s Degree in a related field.

  • Two (2) years of administrative support or program management experience in a healthcare setting.


Preferred:



  • Managed Care experience.

  • Five (5) years of administrative support or project management experience in health care or health plan environment; including Board support.
