• Directs the GW Hospital Infection Prevention (IP) and Control programs. Assesses regulatory compliance and ongoing IP readiness. Oversees clinical IP programs while promoting patient safety. Assesses reporting compliance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), state and local reporting agencies, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) standard surveillance definitions. Oversees IP surveillance and the collection, analysis and reporting of IP data.

This is a senior position at GW Hospital reporting to the Chief Quality Officer. Relocation offered. Sign-on for eligible candidates .

• Education/Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree required in nursing (BSN)
  • Master's degree required in nursing, education, hospital administration, public health, epidemiology and/or biostatistics
  • Current national certification in Infection Control (CIC)
• 
  Skills
  • Expert knowledge of National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN)
  • Proficiency with the Cerner electronic medical record and IP modules preferred
  • Leadership/Management experience preferably in an administrative role
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Requires excellent analytic, problem solving, organizational and project management skills
  • Knowledge of Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and statistical analysis programs, with strong overall computer skills
