This position requires knowledge of 340B Program compliance, and the use and management of 340B software systems, and spreadsheet work in general.
The Auditor will: Be expected to conduct oneself in a professional manner representing SpendMend Pharmacy's directives utilizing best practice standards set forth by Apexus and HRSA. Auditor will troubleshoot issues that may arise and report any potential problems to SpendMend Pharmacy's leadership. Auditor is expected to work independently within the first 3 months.
340B Drug Program Audits:
Perform onsite and remote audits both independently and with support.
Conduct audit as a HRSA like audit.
Assist with or complete a Medicare Cost Report to Location crosswalk for the client.
Perform a gap analysis of policy and procedures following a policy checklist.
Review and finalize audit agendas and data request lists.
Develop an individualized audit guide prior to the pre-audit call.
Participate in pre-audit call.
Present all audit prep work, notes, and sample results in audit guide.
Audit patient records to determine if prescription written is from an eligible clinic or hospital location, by a covered entity provider, and the prescription is related to the care received at the covered entity and documented in the EHR.
Monitor ordering/purchasing processes, and analyze invoices, shipping, and inventory processes related to 340B drugs.
Professional audit summary writing is expected and should be started immediately following an audit.
Complete audit summary report draft within one week of audit.
An Independently written audit summary report is required and should be delivered within 3 weeks of audit.
For system clients, prepare a summary of audit results in an audit problem list/tracker with final report.
Provide education to pharmacy staff and/or other 340B compliance staff while on audit
Lead entrance and closing conference.
Provide client an education slide deck.
Provide support during client HRSA audit, when requested.
Participate in Turnkey newsletter monthly.
Participate in corrective action planning with clients post audit.
SpendMend Pharmacy Compliance participation, monitoring, and development:
Participate in development of company.
Provide audit support.
Participate in weekly team meetings.
Maintain an up to date calendar.
Travel is not considered work time unless work is being completed during the flight and while waiting for the plane.
Understand OPAIS and resources available on the HRSA website.
Review the 340B Health general discussion group weekly.
Review the NACHC Manual and any updates
Maintain knowledge of changing rules and regulations.
Participate in policy and procedure development.
Participate in data request development.
Participate in tool development.
Expand professional development through related classes and seminars, current publications, and regional/national association membership participation.
Monitor state Medicaid processes.
Evaluation and process improvement:
Annual performance reviews may be conducted along with goal setting.
Make recommendations on process improvements.
Travel expected at least twice monthly and possibly three times per month when there are five weeks in the month. (Travel incentive applied when not at home office)
340B compliance training requirements:
340B Advanced Certificate Program within first 3 months of hire and complete within 9 months of hire.
Attendance at one 340B Coalition meeting annually.
Desired Education and Experience Requirements:
Pharmacy degree, Healthcare Operations degree, or commensurate experience and/or training or education.
Knowledge of the healthcare environment, electronic health records, and 340B program in general.
Experience presenting to management staff and C-suite leadership.
Previous experience as a compliance analyst, auditor, or pharmacy management team member.

Additional Salary Information: wage range starts at $80k per year and is negotiable depending upon experience level.
