POSITION TITLE:340B Program Coordinator, Pharmacist
REPORTS TO:Pharmacy Director

BASE SALARY- Starting hourly pay range is $56.00 to $63.26, dependent on relevant experience and qualifications. This position is not bonus eligible. In addition to the standard base rate you may receive a shift differential of:
$3.00 an hour for week nights, defined as Monday through Friday - 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.
$2.00 an hour for weekend day, defined as Saturday and Sunday - 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
$4.00 an hour for weekend nights, defined as Saturday and Sunday - 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.
JOB PURPOSE:To improve the health and wellbeing of our communities.
BASIC FUNCTION:Serves as the compliance expert on 340B Program details, policies and procedures for Grand River Hospital District (GRHD). Leads GRHD’s 340B oversight committee, which includes members from senior leadership, pharmacy, compliance, legal, and finance.
Serves as the point person and coordinator for related audits. Performs a variety of auditing activities and tasks internally and externally to include ongoing 340B compliance as well as annual audits. Maintains a state of readiness for all audits.
Inventory oversight responsibilities include tracking purchases, 340B drug inventories, and ensures proper inventory replenishment. Documents utilization and matches usage with purchases. Identifies any discrepancies and researches to remediate. Identifies any problem areas as well as opportunities for improvement and works collaboratively with Pharmacy Director to resolve and improve processes.
Policy and procedure activities are an ongoing responsibility. Ensures policies and procedures are maintained according to organizational, state and federal requirements. Monitors processes and adjusts policies and procedures as needed to ensure accurate reflection of processes. Monitors and assesses 340B guidance and/or rule changes, including, but not limited to HRSA/OPA rules and Medicaid changes. Makes adjustments as necessary to ensure up-to-date compliance.
Responsibilities include recertification oversight. Responsible for ensuring that the annual HRSA recertification is completed within the allowable time frame and the HRSA 340B OPAIS is accurate for all organization entities. Provides ongoing training, education, and communication required for the 340B Program at GRHD.
Contract management duties include maintaining current contracts and reviewing/negotiating any new 340B contracts. Assesses opportunities for cost savings and business improvements in 340B contract pharmacy utilization. Prioritizes improvements and program enhancements related to services and contracts.
Actively monitors monthly reports, annual reports and scorecards on 340B participation. Coordinates monthly analysis showing savings, problem areas, exceptions or discrepancies. Reports findings to 340B oversight committee. Maintains ongoing communication with Pharmacy Director. Reports findings and progress as well as improvement opportunities.
In addition to primary function of 340B Program Coordinator, performs staff Pharmacists duties. Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
Education:Requires bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD. Must be licensed by the State of Colorado Board of Pharmacy to practice pharmacy.
Experience:Requires a minimum of 1 year 340B experience. Apexus Advanced 340B Operations certification required within 6 months of initial employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Must have a working knowledge of hospital clinical information system and pharmacy order processing and of CPOE processes and barcode scanning of medication at the bedside. Must have good communication skills which include listening and verbal skills which would be commonly used when working with a wide variety of people, including physicians, nursing and other patient care staff in providing appropriate patient care. Must also be able to council and educate patients in medication use following discharge. Must also serve as a drug information source for the medical staff and the community. Must coordinate and check off on the activities of the technicians in their routine work assignments. This position will provide administrative oversight of the department in the absence of the director. Must be proficient within one (1) month of hire in Meditech, Pyxis, Kronos and HealthStream.

WORKING CONDITIONS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. There may be repetitive motions of the wrists and hands and extended period of stationary activity. This position performs tasks that involve exposure to patients’ conditions and communicable diseases, as well as exposure to chemical hazards and radiation hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
