Job Summary

Graduate students will participate in experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional setting.The intern will operate in a high visibility, high impact role as digital engagement or analytics support to lead efforts to build a “Digital Front Door” command center. Design digital voice of customer strategy, framework and reporting capability that can be automated to generate regular consumer insights to inform business and digital product development strategy and priorities.

Job Duties

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interns will work along side professionals in their chosen career area.
  • Assist with supporting the assigned area, gaining practical application experience, and expanding their knowledge and skills base.
  • Interns will have the opportunity to observe the workplace and gain industry knowledge, while also performing job-specific tasks to assist with operations.
  • Works closely on a project team both conceptually and analytically, applying business acumen.
  • Assists in developing insights, results and recommendations.
  • Design and develop centralized “Command center” to oversee digital engagement on Geisinger's digital front door (website Geisinger.org, patient portal, member portal, pharmacy portal) with end objectives of providing:
  • Centralized automated dashboard that reports on critical KPIS for all digital properties.
  • Data driven insights to go along with dashboard, to help surface key insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Standard, regular report on Geisinger customer's key use cases for health system, plan, pharmacy (based on utilization of existing features as well as data informing feature gaps) to help Geisinger's agile Sitecore sprint team prioritize features for design/ build/deployment.
  • Standard, regular data-driven report on where customers experience usability challenges with website or portals. Prioritize such challenges by value to business and to customer, and offer recommendations (with supporting business impact data) on which usability challenges should be resolved.
  • Partner with digital design/ products team on data insight sharing and solutions on how to resolve customer pain points.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Market/consumer research, fluency with digital insights and analytics tools including:  

  • Business intelligence tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
  • Google Analytics and website analysis
  • Marketing research survey design and analysis
  • Ability to read and visualize data to develop insights to share with leadership

Position Details

This is a paid Remote/On-Site Internship that will commence mid-January 2021 with flexible days and hours. End date to be determined.

Must be a graduate student currently attending an accredited college or university in a Master's degree program.
