SUMMARY: This position is accountable for providing safe and effective pharmaceutical care at Valley Childrens Healthcare. Serves as pharmacology consultant, a patient advocate, and a fiscal conscience to the healthcare team while providing pharmacy services to meet the needs of patients/care providers, physicians, nurses and other healthcare team members. Processes safe and effective drug therapy beginning with the review of physician's orders through the administration and outcome of drug therapy and includes providing clinical pharmaceutical services. The emphasis of this position is advanced pharmacy practice in a pediatric inpatient setting.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Pharmacy degree required, Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) preferred. Current Registered Pharmacist with the California State Board of Pharmacy required. Residency or 1 year experience in pediatrics and/or home care preferred. Application of pharmacology and knowledge of drug distribution.
POSITION DETAILS: Part time 40 hours per pay period. Rotating schedule, varies depending on department needs.
