The Puget Sound Lung Cancer Screening (LCS) Program, in collaboration with VISN 20 LCS leadership, provides patient-centered, comprehensive Lung Cancer Screening to the Veteran population. The LCS Nurse Coordinator functions as the liaison between the Veteran, Primary Care (or other referral source), radiology, pulmonary specialty care, surgery, oncology, and research, while providing over-arching coordination of the LCS program. The LCS coordinator will organize and implement the day-to-day operations of the LCS program. The LCS coordinator will also work with the VAPSHCS/VISN 20 Lung Cancer Screening directors, to track and coordinate ongoing patient care. The LCS coordinator will work collaboratively with other sites in VISN20 to facilitate implementation and operations of the growing LCS program. Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to: Manages consults for lung cancer screening enrollment Assesses patient eligibility for enrollment Conducts shared decision-making interactions with potential LCS enrollees Organizes and delivers in-services to educate referring clinical staff Collaborates with informatics team to ensure that clinical reminders, templates, and management tools are functioning appropriately Facilitates follow-up referrals Collects and analyzes data from a variety of sources Communicates findings to referring provider Cross-covers other pulmonary caseloads as requested Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Recruitment/Relocation Incentives: Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: Annual leave at the rate of eight (8) hours per biweekly pay period; Sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per biweekly pay period; 10 paid Federal holidays per year. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years' vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.
