Basic Function: The 340B Compliance Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring of the 340B Program to ensure compliance and integrity of the program.

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer 

1. 340B Compliance Coordination

  • Serves as primary internal and external program compliance specialist and liaison for all 340B-related
  • Ensures that policies and procedures are updated and maintained according to organizational, regional, national, state, and federal requirements and guidelines and are approved by the CEO and
  • Leads the organization’s 340B oversight team, which includes representation from pharmacy, finance, and senior administration.
  • Develops and maintains external relationships (wholesalers, manufacturers, contract pharmacies, split-billing software vendors, and third-party administrator (TPA)vendors) as
  • Actively engages with senior leadership and participates in decision-making processes related to the implementation of new 340B
  • Maintains knowledge of current regulations, trends, and policy changes that affect the 340B Program, including, but not limited to, HRSA/OPA rules and Medicaid
  • Responsible for ensuring that the annual HRSA recertification is completed within the allowable time frame, that all HRSA 340B OPAIS information is accurate for all covered entities, and completes registration of any new child site.
  • Executes and documents monthly self-audits of the 340B process. Coordinates and ensures remediation of
  • Conducts and/or coordinates an annual audit of all contract Documents results and follow-up on any findings.
  • Reviews and negotiates any new 340B contracts. Maintains all 340B contracts.
  • Manages relationships, billing services, and compliance with contracted 340B pharmacies.
  • Evaluates all current and future contract pharmacy opportunities, including contract language, fee structure, data setup, and internal and independent external auditing.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of reports generated on the 340B Program that outline savings, utilization, exceptions, and discrepancies.
  • Responsible for managing and troubleshooting pharmacy billing issues and ensuring that adequate systems checks are reviewed to prevent billing
  • Maintains 340B split-billing software integrity and reviews applicable reports to identify areas for
  • Assists in implementing new software packages and other changes in business practice based on changing regulations and
  • Participates with the prime vendor program and routinely reviews 340B formulary pricing, potential alternatives, and possible additional savings.
  • Manages and tracks 340B drug inventory, including proper
  • Optimizes purchasing of supplies and medications from the 340
  • Regularly monitors 340B purchasing activity and compliance with established

  • Maintains and updates current 340B training, competency, and compliance materials and develops new materials as needed.
  • Conducts annual 340B training for staff members and the Board of Directors Executive Committee at all covered entities.
  • Assist with educational materials for external presentations or promotions of the 340B
  • Regularly communicates with all staff involved with the 340B Program to be sure that processes remain efficient and addresses any problems or suggestions for

 

Working knowledge of 340B processes - compliance, split-billing. At least one year of experience in 340B management. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple daily tasks.
