DIRECTOR, WIC PROGRAM

Come make an impact on our hospital’s community wellness mission by providing astute administration and training for the WIC Program. 

This position involves managing the overall operations of the department to ensure program meets Hospital, Federal, State, and Civil Rights guidelines, staffing, and caseload management. In this role, you will:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of our annual nutrition services
  • Develop, maintain, and implement program policies and procedures to meet regulation standards
  • Monitor adequate staffing and caseload; and provide guidance, resources, training, and evaluations at all levels
  • Prepare and submit grants, plans/reports, budgets, policies/procedures, and payroll in a timely manner

 

The qualified professional must have:

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Nutritional Science, Community Nutrition, Clinical or Human Nutrition, Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition or Public Health Nutrition, from a regionally accredited college or university or one recognized by the New York State Education Department
  • Minimum 5 years’ administrative experience in a clinical or community nutrition setting, including at least 2 directly in a WIC Clinic
  • Demonstrated experience working with low income and culturally diverse populations
  • 1-2 years’ grant writing experience along with effective communication, analysis, and organizational planning skills
  • Knowledge of general business management and budgeting, as well as the development of training materials
  • RD/RDN highly desirable
