You Will Be Responsible For:

Our team members are the facilities/engineering staff and employees. Our customers are any person, department, contractor, or vendor that receives our products or services.

Interview, selects, trains, supervise and evaluate subordinate personnel
Constantly mentor, develop and engage staff. Manages facilities engineering team members in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Also promotes a good working relationship with staff and hospital departments.
Plans, assign and directs the maintenance and operations of all major hospital utility systems, including but not limited to, high pressure boilers, steam lines, water, sewer, gas electrical, heating, ventilating and air conditioning and medical gas to insure maximal efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsible for reviewing and/or conducting employee appraisals, counseling, and discipline on all personnel within the area(s) of responsibility.
Actively participates as a member of the Safety/Environment of Care Team and the owner of the Utilities Management Program. Create, implement and monitor safety initiatives and programs for the hospital.
Plan, develop and administers hazardous materials and waste policies and procedures. Assist in the development and administration of the hospitalâ™s Business Continuity Emergency Plan. Responsible for the management of hazardous materials and waste management program under the direction of the EOC Committee.
Prepares and submit reports. Analyzes and trends and data that pertains to departmental operations and personnel productivity.
Prepares and controls budgets for each functional area; recommends and analyze expenditures for departmental preventive and service contracts. Coordinate the purchase of materials, supplies, equipment and tools for effective operations for the department and other departments in the hospital.
Work with Department Director on departmental goals and objectives, policies, procedures, budgets, and long-range plans to ensure that all assigned areas meet operational goals including adequate productivity, budget, and efficiency levels.
Ensure that areas of responsibility follow all regulatory guidelines and safety procedures related to their tasks as assigned including Joint Commission, DNV-GL, AHCA and OSHA standards.
Implements programs, systems and processes in all areas of responsibility to comply with Joint Commission, DNV-GL, AHCA and OSHA standards including but not limited to participating on the inspection and testing of the fire safety suppression system as set forth by NFPA.
Coordinates projects with private contractors, engineers, and architects, as well as Hospital Design & Construction Department to ensure milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
Performs other duties as assigned, to include adjusting oneâ™s schedule of work if necessary for the continued safety or convenience of our guests and/or staff.
Demonstrates commitment to professional and personal growth-i.e. completes all mandatory educational requirements, maintains unit-based certification, attends 75% of unit staff meetings, acts as designated preceptor, acts as designated resource, member of professional engineering organization, attains required certifications, attends EPC, EOCC committees, Safety Officer duties, and member of shared governance council.
What You Will Need:
Must be proficient with computerized work order system and be able to pull reports to maintain efficient repairs and preventive maintenance program in accordance with city, state, OSHA, JCAHO, DNV-GL AHCA, and AdventHealth guidelines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Seven (7) plus years experience.
Extensive knowledge of Hospital maintenance areas.
NCHFM, CHSP, CHE preferred
Responsible for full management of the team, recruitment/hiring, performance, department onboarding, terminating, all management functions, time and attendance, etc., and partnership with human resources and employee relations.
Is responsible for the operation of assigned area(s); communicate with other departments to provide optimal care and operation of the hospital facilities to facilitate uninterrupted service to patients and to assure safe conditions of employment for staff members.Must be a member of the Safety Team and Safety Utilities Committee.Implements programs to maintain systems in accordance with regulations and administrative guidelines.Maintains hospital systems in a safe, operational and energy efficient manner and ensure that all JCAHO, DNV-GL OSHA, AHCA and other regulation standards are met.Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accept responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
