The Director of Hospice is responsible for all aspects of Samaritan’s hospice services.
Assumes responsibility for the 24-hour provision of hospice care to Samaritan’s patients, insuring the provision of high quality outcomes of care delivered by the hospice clinical personnel
Responsible for hiring, orientation and the on-going supervision of hospice managers.
Continuously monitors quality of care and effective clinical outcomes; collaboratively develops strategies to improve quality
Collaborates with Director of Quality and Compliance and hospice managers to assure regulatory compliance measures are met in accordance with the Medicare Conditions of Participations for Hospice and the Joint Commission Standards of Care for Hospice Accreditation
Organizes and provides oversight of Performance Improvement Projects when an area of quality improvement is identified
Facilitates collection of related statistics for reporting purposes
Conducts bi-monthly Clinical Operations meetings to assure communication of clinical and agency issues and discussion of interventions and outcomes
Provides direct oversight of management of Inpatient Units
Investigates patient/family/staff complaints when necessary
Serves on clinical and administrative committees as appropriate
Maintains open line of communication with Chief Operating Officer
Other responsibilities as assigned
BSN required, Master’s preferred
NJ RN License required, valid NJ driver’s license and auto insurance
At least 5-10 years Nursing Leadership experience in a Healthcare setting with at least 3 of those years in a Hospice environment
