As the Manager Information Technology - Pharmacy you will manage the technical and analytic staff who oversee the infrastructure, database, analytics and reporting services for pharmacy systems to deliver high quality service to customers. This position will also actively participate with the design, development and deployment of software solutions, enterprise integration and data warehouse/business intelligence. This team provides level 2 and 3 support for hosting pharmacy specific applications using best practices for data management, quality assurance, project management and architectural standards. In addition, this position will oversee strategic and professional relationships and lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals.
Manage the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of software solutions, enterprise integration and data warehouse/business intelligence components.
Direct and contribute to the development and deployment of data analysis, reporting and methodology. Create and apply solution development methodologies and standards.
Provide data warehouse and business intelligence expertise through the active participation in data warehouse maintenance to ensure reporting, online analytical processing, and data mining can occur, so business trends can be understood, information can be analyzed and products can be marketed timely.
Manage the architecture and tools to collect, query, analyze and present information for proper and efficient data mining.
Oversee project intake for the technical and analytic team to ensure the projects support FPS strategic goals and are prioritized appropriately.
Integrate and apply management initiatives and strategy to the information systems.
Lead, design and apply standards of practice (clinical policies, regulatory requirements, financial security, etc.) to system requirement design and configuration. Provide recommendation and support best practice to meet and exceed needs of FPS and the Fairview system.
Oversee and direct the ongoing support of core pharmacy applications.
Identify system requirements and ensure they are met appropriately.
Ensure an effective process for prioritization that reflects pharmacy goals are established and maintained.
Provide leadership to assure that project goals are defined and met. Assume accountability for project timelines, deliverables and for negotiating schedules with key stakeholders.
Manage staff including hiring, orienting, coaching, evaluating and effectively managing performance to ensure they possess the needed skills to deliver high quality service to customers.
Provide ongoing, continuous management oversight, as a coach who supports the growth and development of employees. Manage performance and provide mentoring, leadership and direction.
Manage and monitor the department staffing model to maximize efficiency, assure adequate staffing levels, and control costs. Oversee assigned area to ensure appropriate distribution of workload and streamlined workflow.
Recruit, interview, and hire staff. Coordinate orientation of new staff, and ensure their ongoing development.
Complete timely performance reviews according to policy.
Champion strategic and professional relationships to promote FPS and to ensure acquisition and dissemination of information.
Act as a relationship manager and liaison with Fairview Health Services by maintaining a partnership that enhances and drives corporate-wide adaptability, innovation, and alignment with corporate strategy, to ensure FPS and its IT department can remain informed of changes and strategies that may impact their effectiveness and the business. Actively participate on system-wide committees to maintain professional connection.
Build and maintain relationships between internal IT resources and external entities, including vendors and partner organizations.
Provide presentations and written reports internally and externally as required to keep stakeholders informed.
Lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment and management of current and future IT systems throughout FPS.
Manage fiduciary and budgeting responsibility for department so that needs and requirements are met as directed by FPS leadership.
Manage and negotiate staffing resources between corporate IT and Pharmacy to assure strategic goals are appropriately resourced.
Ensure the security, confidentiality, availability and integrity of data and information pertaining to Fairview through compliance with standards, codes, regulations and laws such as:
Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS)
Assure compliance and collaboration with Fairview corporate IT to meet all regulatory requirements.
Design and conduct disaster recovery testing for software applications when appropriate.
Responsible for the discovery, mitigation and documentation of information technology risks, including hardware and software lifecycle requirements.
Conduct business impact analysis and vulnerability assessments.
Ensure that organization leadership understand information security risks
Provide guidance and advocacy regarding prioritization of infrastructure investment that impact information security
Bachelors in math, computer science, or related field
Masters in Business or related field.
A minimum of 5 years leadership experience with increasing levels of accountability, 5+ years in information systems that includes in-depth experience with data warehousing, analytics and reporting.
Pharmacy education or experience. Project management experience. SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and data modeling tool experience
Strong computer skills, proven leadership, project management, problem solving, excellent customer service, and proven relationship building skills. Experience with improving processes, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work in a self-directed manager with multi-disciplinary teams.
