Under minimal supervision, the 340B Application Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and operation of the entire 340B Drug Pricing Program for Denver Health & Hospital Authority including ambulatory, retail, and acute care areas.
The incumbent will work closely with pharmacy leadership, vendors, outside consultants and expert organizations, Finance, Legal, and the Compliance Department to ensure the integrity and full compliance with all applicable policies, laws, standards and regulations for all 340B Programs.
This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining policies and procedures applicable to the 340B program and for developing, maintaining, and oversight of a robust internal self-audit process/program.
Responsible for the optimization and maximization of the program and for evaluating and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
Responsible for developing an effective reporting methodology to track the overall financial impact to the organization and for monitoring and improving program compliance and performance.
Will have responsibility for the training and education of all appropriate staff across the organization.
Will serve as the Recorder for the 340B Steering Committee.
Responsible for conducting business analytics, offering recommendations, and implementing solutions in the areas of contracting, purchasing, dispensing, expense management, billing and reimbursement.
Acts as a resource in the preparation of annual budgets.
Education 1. Bachelor’s degree required 2. MBA preferred
Experience 1. Five years of experience in pharmacy healthcare required. 2. Experience in a 340B Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) institution preferred. 3. Applicable application support experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. In depth knowledge of 340B pharmacy programs including administration and compliance of a program. 2. Knowledge of the revenue cycle for health care organizations. 3. Strong communications skills. 4. Ability to demonstrate sound problem solving/decision making with practical critical thinking. 5. Ability to design and perform audits. 6. Strong attention to detail. 7. Understands software and hardware requirements of varied departmental systems. 8. Understands the workflow and process requirements of complex application systems. 9. Demonstrates ability to be the subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining and administering complex applications. 10. Understands basic pharmacy business functions and can adapt these concepts to the pharmacy information system application to support business administration. 11. Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical employees across the enterprise. 12. Demonstrated ability to perform system testing. 13. Ability to mentor, teach and supervise support staff and/or analysts on application systems to help build knowledge, skill and ability to meet goals set for and by the team and enterprise.
Computers and Technology 1. Basic computer function, particularly Microsoft Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. 2. Electronic medical record function; Epic proficiency preferred. 3. 340B slitting software proficiency. 4. Basic working knowledge of interfaces and FTP. 5. Basic understanding of IT security.
Certificates, Licenses and Registration 1. CPhT preferred. 2. Apexus 340B University certification preferred.
