Assists with oversight for short and long term planning of pharmacy initiatives, policy development, implementation, and evaluation for the WVU Health System pertaining to 340B to include standardization and oversight of the pharmacy buyers group borrow and loan practices.
Oversees and ensures compliance of the 340B Drug Discount Program to include documentation of policy and procedure, tracking of software, documented cost savings, and appropriate safeguards/system integrity.
Monitors and calculates 340B cost savings on a quarterly basis.
Performs Diversion Detection & monitor WAC spend and dispensing patterns to determine trends and find solutions to decrease WAC spending. Perform monthly audit to verify mapping is correct in the 340B Split Billing Software.
Responsible for uploading purchase data to the 340B Split Billing Software on a monthly basis for all purchases made outside of the wholesaler.
Serves as institutional expert on 340B Drug Pricing Program details, policies, and procedures to include being a liaison with other departments and hospitals to ensure 340B program integrity, provide oversight and leadership from the pharmacy department for the 340B program and sit on the organization’s 340B Committee, actively engage with senior leadership and participate in decision making processes related to the 340B program.
Provides regular financial & 340B training, education, and communication to appropriate staff, residents, and students.
Collaborates with staff, compliance, and 340B Committee to develop and maintain audit metrics.
Provides purchaser(s) with information needed to place orders using the appropriate accounts when unable to run order through the split billing software.
Responsible for daily maintenance of the 340B Split Billing Software. Responsible for the testing and validation of the 340B Split Billing Software and it’s communication with the pharmacy software.
Monitors purchases for contract compliance, 340B compliance, and accurate pricing.
Assists pharmacy staff in reporting, data requests, and other inquiries as necessary.
Provide oversight for audits as it pertains to the 340B Drug Pricing Program and day to day functions.
Works with WVUH outpatient, other entities in WVUHS and specialty pharmacies to ensure entity wide 340B compliance.
Actives member of the WVUH 340B Steering Committee attending all meeting and disseminating information as needed.
Chair the Inpatient, Outpatient, and Ambulatory Hospital 340B Subcommittee for the WVU Health System.
Assists Pharmacy Business & 340B Manager in planning of team meetings.
Maintains borrow/loan database for all transactions outside of the hospital to include reconciling borrow/loans by coordinating repayment of drug or invoicing to outside entities.
Monitors POC logs, document costs associated with transferring drugs to the clinics and uploading all drug transactions outside pharmacy to Sentry. Including clinics and cancer center.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Extensive knowledge of 340B program.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or Hospital Administration.
Apexus 340B certification within one year of hire date.
Two years’ of healthcare or pharmacy experience.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
Experience in data analysis and reporting preferred.
Nationally Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
